Ongoing Common Core Tai Chi class series.  New 4 or 5 week series starts 1st week of each month.

Step by step instruction in the fundamentals of Common Core Tai Chi Chuan. Excellent for improving posture, mood and flexibility while reducing stress. Great for cultivating stronger mind body health using gentle flowing body movements that are easy to learn and a pleasure to practice daily. Ideal for students with some previous exposure to tai chi or qigong at the Community College/Emeritus or Senior Center level. Students are taught how to train the body using the correct posture, breathing, and movement mechanics that are common within all styles of genuine Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong practice. 

Prerequisite: None, however some previous exposure to tai chi or qigong is recommended.  

This class is presented by the City of Costa Mesa.

All participants must register at the front desk BEFORE attending class.

The 18 forms Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi routine serves as the foundation for improving breathing, posture and flexibility while reducing stress. This exercise routine is ideal for cultivating stronger mind body health using gentle flowing body movements that are easy to learn and a pleasure to practice daily. In this class students are taught how to do the exercises in the specific way unique to tai chi and qigong that allows the body to accelerate it’s own rebalancing and self healing abilities.

Standard class involves 50 minutes of active movement while standing. Wear comfortable loose fitting clothing and flat sole closed toe shoes. This is an ongoing class series FREE for adults 18+ 
 

Class is instructed by Ryan Lee. This 18+ adult tai chi class is sponsored by the City of Costa Mesa and Greater Newport Physicians and is free to attend. Typical class involves warm up qigong exercises, tai chi instruction, and 24 forms tai chi routine practice. Expect a full hour of standing movement. Class is held outdoors in the park, bring a hat and glasses if sunny, or a coat if cool.
